Interlink Electronics, US
The project is a novel breakthrough intended to demonstrate a fully integrated gas-sensing system built on a flexible substrate that makes medical and other applications feasible.
Key Features:
- The product being demonstrated incorporates a miniaturized high-performance gas sensor (the system itself is agnostic to the type of gas being sensed)
- Signal processing electronics is integrated on a flexible substrate so that the raw data coming from the sensor is properly sanitized; thus enabling cleaner edge AI implementation (planned for next gen)
- Easy plug-and-play by way of printed connectors
Examples of soceital and technological Impact
- Strictly non-invasive healthcare devices that can contour to human body, for sensing, for example, alcohol levels or disease conditions
- Plant health monitoring for better quality and yield; as well as ubiquitous food quality and safety monitoring
- Enables development of systems that can do hyper-local wildfire or air quality monitoring, improving public safety and quality of life
Functionality
The screen-printed gas sensor senses the gas using electrochemical reaction principle; the generated current is then converted to voltage signals for use in downstream signal processing
