VDMA EMINT and OE-A have published a position paper and have participated in the consultation of the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA).
The EU’s planned ban on the entire PFAS group of substances would endanger many industrial processes – especially the technologies of the energy transition. VDMA published a position paper demanding polymers of low concern to exempt from a ban. Now VDMA EMINT and OE-A have published a position paper (for OE-A members only) which is tailored for our industries.
Since March 2023, ECHA runs a public consultation on the restriction of perfluorinated and polyfluorinated alkyl substances (PFAS). The consultation has ended on September 25, 2023.
VDMA EMINT and OE-A Position Paper
What the blanket ban on PFAS substances would mean for the technologies of the energy transition in particular, we learned directly from our members during a web seminar in June 2023 and by means of a survey. VDMA EMINT and OE-A have drawn up a position paper (for members only) on the impact of a blanket PFAS ban on climate goals and key technologies.
