VDMA published a position paper and asks all member companies to participate in the ECHA consultation. Per- and polyfluorinated alkyl compounds (PFAS) are indispensable for many industrial processes.
The EU’s planned ban on the entire PFAS group of substances would endanger many industrial processes – especially the technologies of the energy transition. VDMA published a position paper demanding polymers of low concern to exempt from a ban. Affected companies can engage themselves in the public consultation by the European Chemicals Agency ECHA.
Since March 2023, ECHA runs a public consultation on the restriction of perfluorinated and polyfluorinated alkyl substances (PFAS). The consultation ends on September 25, 2023. OE-A and VDMA would like to urge all members who are affected by the planned restriction to participate in the consultation at an early stage. The VDMA Sector Association EMINT and OE-A also intend to participate in the consultation with your support. All OE-A members received via email extra information to participate in the survey.
